Service members with Headquarters and Headquarters Squadron practice patrolling techniques during a bivouac and hike that took place aboard station, March 27 - 28, 2014. The evolution gave members of the squadron a chance to practice patrolling techniques, re-familiarize themselves with crew-served weapons and learn call-to-fire procedures. Participants awoke early the day after the bivouac to conduct a 10-kilometer hike in fire teams, ending with a warrior's breakfast at the southside chowhall.

American and Japanese participants of the 2014 Kintai Marathon, which took place aboard Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan, run past a puddle, April 13. The Kintai Marathon is one of the few annual events that give Japanese citizens an opportunity to come aboard station. Approximately 800 people signed up for the full marathon, half marathon and five-kilometer walk.
